Gulf Craft celebrates growing presence in Asia

Majesty 50Gulf Craft Inc, the Middle East's largest boat and yacht manufacturer, has rounded off a successful year by extending its customer base in Asia with a strong appearance at the Phuket International Marine Expo (PIMEX) and delivery of its first Majesty 50 yacht to Malaysia.

With four boats on display including the Gulf Craft brands Oryx 36 and Sea Breeze 33, the Thailand dealer experienced positive feedback from visitors and secured 3 new orders during the 4 day event.

'We are delighted with the interest from visitors to PIMEX which represents the growing marine industry in Thailand. Participation at boat shows such as PIMEX will help to cement our growing presence in the Asia market,' said Erwin Bamps, Executive Manager, Gulf Craft Inc.

Gulf Craft's Thailand dealer, Go Boating, also used the PIMEX event to open its new office in Royal Phuket Marina. The opening has led to an expansion in services and as a result all Gulf Craft boats sold through the dealer can be serviced in-house for a faster and more cost effective after sales service.

In addition to its success at PIMEX, Gulf Craft also recently saw delivery of its first Majesty 50 yacht to Malaysia. The yacht, which will be used for corporate purposes, will be seen gracing the coastlines of Malaysia and its neighboring countries.

Pen Marine, Gulf Craft's Malaysian dealer specializes in the sale of boats to owners who wish to use their boats for the purposes of corporate hospitality and organize trips from Phuket to Singapore and the eastern region of Malaysian peninsula and part of Indonesian islands. Pen Marine is able to offer owners hassle free boating as well as after sales service.

'Gulf Craft's ability to successfully compete at the highest levels of the international yacht market by meeting and exceeding the expectations of a discerning clientele has resulted in Asia becoming a major market for us and one in which we expect to see much growth over the next 12 months,'

Concluded Erwin Bamps.

Gulf Craft will continue to expand their presence internationally by exhibiting in international boat shows globally such as Dusseldorf, Mumbai and Dubai in the next few months.

Gulf Craft launches 5 new models at Dubai International Boat Show press conference

Gulf Craft Inc, the Middle East's largest boat and yacht manufacturer, has today revealed 5 new models in its expanding product range that aims to tap into its rapidly expanding customer base.

The new additions include two new luxury yachts, the Majesty 77 and Majesty 121 as well as the Silver Craft 37, representing Gulf Craft's latest product line up, the Silver Craft range, and the revolutionary Oryx 40 Fly and 46 Fly.

Launching a record number of models at this year's Boat Show, Gulf Craft is debuting its new generation of Majesty Yachts which feature a new sleek, modern style and contemporary interior that is favoured among its growing European customer base.

'Over the last 12 months Gulf Craft has seen a significant rise in the number of European dealerships and customers. Global economic trends such as a weak dollar and strong Euro have enabled Gulf Craft to increase its market share in Europe to become a favoured brand on the continent. The introduction of two new Majesty yachts will further add to the impressive portfolio of vessels Gulf Craft currently offer and help to further cater to the European and international market,'
said Mohammed Hussain Al Shaali, Chairman, Gulf Craft Inc.

The Majesty 121 is a true super yacht, from the immaculate exterior styling and the no-compromise naval engineering to the exquisite interior workmanship. Built under rigorous class inspection, Majesty Yachts contain a host of amenities and feature the latest high-tech entertainment facilities. Majesty 121 specifications have been designed to set a new standard for super yacht construction. The Majesty 77 represents the new Majesty Yachts generation, replacing the Majesty 75, launched in 2004. With its striking new interior concept and its prominent exterior profile, it already attracted a lot of customer attention prior to its global launch on the Dubai international boat show 2008.

In addition, Gulf Craft's Silver Craft range of sporty, fishing and family boats will make its Middle Eastern debut at this year's DIBS. Having taken the Mumbai Boat Show by storm earlier this month, the Silver Craft range, with its sporty design looks is set to do the same in Dubai.

'Based on the Middle East's growing demand for smaller leisure craft, we believe the Silver Craft range will tap into this lucrative market and become a firm favourite at the Dubai International Boat Show,' added Erwin Bamps, Executive Manager, Gulf Craft Inc.

Adding to its popular Oryx range, Gulf Craft is launching the Oryx 40 Fly and 46 Fly at the event, the first fly-bridge version in its already popular sport cruiser range. The creation of its second line-up of yachts dedicated towards a young and trendy customer base, rather than the up-market and exclusive luxury oriented Majesty Yachts range, is no less than ground-breaking. With its distinctive orange color marking and its rather aggressive sporty looks, the Oryx Sport Yachts & Cruiser series has already carved itself an enthusiastic following and brand recognition in the GCC market.

Gulf Craft is once again a most prominent exhibitor at DIBS 2008 and is exhibiting a total of 17 vessels at this year's premier boat exhibition representing the company's growing market share and continued commitment to servicing the maritime needs of the Middle East. With two dedicated stands and a total of 13 boats displayed on water Gulf Craft will once again be the exhibitor to visit.

Dubai International Boat Show is one of Gulf Craft's most important events in the maritime calendar. In 2007, the local company secured sales worth more than $20 million during the exhibition.

'The Dubai International Boat Show is an excellent platform to launch new models and a fantastic opportunity to showcase the quality of manufacturing, design and finishing of our crafts. Visitors to DIBS are highly discerning and this premier exhibition is a great platform for sales both in the region and beyond,' said Mohammed Hussain Al Shaali, Chairman, Gulf Craft Inc.

Silvercraft SC31 "Wunhung"

Silvercraft SC31 "Wunhung"

Late September brought the arrival of the first newly branded Gulfcraft models, " Silvercraft". This new 31SC was ordered by her Owner, a well known boating enthusiast of Phuket and South East Asia, Mr Colin Low, who specified her to be a weekend cruiser, with extended shade area, Larger ice box's and comforts to make his days as relaxing as possible. Some time after placing the order, a good friend of Colin's, Mr Chris Hurst asked if he could become a partner in the boat. Colin agreed and Chris made his adjustments to the specs to suit his requirements. Chris is a fisherman, so extra rod holders, Rocket launchers and Sailfish outriggers were the order of the day. The boat arrived Mid September and was handed over in the final weeks. Colin has dodged the rain through this rainy season and has a great day or two out on the water cruising easily, powered by twin Suzuki 200hp engines. Wunhung is safely berthed in Boat Lagoon marina Phuket if ever you wished to check her out, or get down to Koh Ratcha and catch up with Chris as he pulls in that large Sailfish or hunts down that fisherman's dream catch, the almighty Marlin.

Silvercraft SC33 "Sun Kiss'd"

Silvercraft SC33 "Sun Kiss'd"

Sun Kiss'd arrived late September, and spent the first week on the hardstand having final assembly and anti-fouling application carried out. The owner Mr. Norbert Kiss already is familiar with the waters around Phuket as he is a member of Royal Phuket Marina's Cruising club. He wanted to to compliment his cruising experience by having a smaller vessel to use along side his cruising clubs vessel, with outboards for shallow water access and with a cabin so his family can shade from the sun. The boat was specified with air conditioning and Generator, a larger sunshade, and a full electronics package including Radar as Norbert is a gadgets man and wanted plenty of toys to play with whilst cruising. The boat was originally ordered with 225 HP engines but due to these not being available at the time of assembly, Go Boating Offered an upgrade to 250hp for a very small extra charge and Norbert was very happy to have the larger engine upgrade. The boat was finally launched and Norbert and his family managed two days out on the boat and came back with smiles and stories of a great weekend aboard Sun Kiss'd.

“Koh Chang Explorer” Gulfcraft Walkaround 31

“Koh Chang Explorer” Gulfcraft Walkaround 31

March 2008 saw our most remote delivery to date. The delivery of a New Gulfcraft Walkaround 31 to Koh Chang, Trat. The boat arrived at Ocean marina, Pattaya, where the Pre delivery inspection was carried out and after shipping assembly gave the owner Mr Jeff Bukamier the chance to get to know his new boat. This boat was custom designed by Jeff, as his preferences were for lots of shade and cold storage,

plus the larger 225 hp engine package. Go Boating exceeded Jeff’s requests on producing a fine looking boat and he was extremely happy with our work. Obviously Koh Chang is some way from Ocean Marina, in fact 110 NM ! The trip started early one morning with the owner and his friend and 3 from Go Boating’s team on board, and everything looked like a perfect day for a delivery until we rounded the head at Satahip, ! The sea’s turned into a 2 meter swell from the Stbd bow, but as instructed Jeff trimmed the boat to perfection and we maintained a steady 25knots into this annoying swell. Further into the trip as we approached Chanthaburi the seas calmed and Jeff was keen to achieve the boats top speed of 43knots, which brought a smile to all those on board. The trip took 4 hours total, and when we arrived at the ferry terminal on Koh Chang a well deserved lunch was waiting for all. Go Boating have recently just visited the vessel to carry out its first service on Koh Chang.

“Sting” Gulfcraft Touring 36

“Sting” Gulfcraft Touring 36  “Sting” Gulfcraft Touring 36

March 2008 saw the third Touring 36 delivered to Phuket’s waters. However this vessel was not destined for a resort to be used as a ferry boat or charter vessel. The owner Mr Ross Taylor knew exactly what he wanted and having searched the market including other models from Gulfcraft, finally chose the T36, as he wanted a fun boat with lots of passenger space. Ross had many customs plans for his boat and most of these were executed at the factory to include a new seat layout, custom dashboard and coolers. The other mods were carried out by the Go Boating team at their service facility at RPM once the vessel had arrived. Extra lights, new helm seat, hardtop sky hatches, cooling fans and custom seat cushions are just a few items which Ross had planned and everything was installed and his dream became a reality. Suzuki 300hp engines were chosen not to achieve a high top speed but for their ability to give this boat a very economical cruise speed of 26 knots. A top speed of 43knots is available. To date Ross has done quite a few trips with friends and regularly takes 15+ guests out on the boat. The new seating layout gives ample room and keeps the vessel evenly laden which aids stability and performance. Catch up with Ross one day and get out on this amazingly versatile vessel.

"Rose" Gulfcraft Walkaround 31

"Rose" Gulfcraft Walkaround 31

June 2008 marked the arrival of another new Walkaround 31 “ Rose”, destined for Koh Samui. Her owner flew over to Phuket to take delivery and to conduct sea trials and training. The wet weather knew we required a clear window for the weekend and the rain and wind subsided and two full days of beautiful cruising and owner training were conducted. “ Rose” Named after the owners late Aunt, then spent the next week being relocated and secured at her new home Koh Samui. Again this 31 equipped with twin 200 hp Suzuki’s gives great performance with fantastic economy. A longer sunshade, exterior cockpit table, bow sunpad were all custom requests. New style twin swim platforms were a first for the factory and were executed perfectly, adding extra space to the transom area. A truly perfect weekender.
