Silvercraft shines at Bahrain Boat Show debut

Gulf Craft Inc, a leading player in the global boat and yacht manufacturing industry, has experienced strong interest and sales from its debut appearance at the first ever Bahrain Boat Show. The appearance follows a successful participation at the Dubai International Boat Show and the Abu Dhabi Yacht Show earlier in the year and consolidates the local manufacturer's dominance of the GCC marine industry.

Super yachts within a year of its market introduction

“Bangla Suites One” Gulfcraft SF 31

The first delivery of 2008 brought smiles all round to the Go Boating Team, Absolute developments and the National press who were present to see the launch of Bangla Suites One. A local storm did its best to dampen the event, but the great sea keeping abilities of the Gulfcraft SF31 meant that the delivery from RPM to Patong beach went ahead as planned. “Bangla Suites One “ is the first boat to be delivered into this luxury Condominium project in Patong, whereby the condo owners have the free usage of the vessel for cruising, skiing and generally having a great time out on the water. Many will be able to view this striking vessel as she sits at rest each evening I the Bangla Road area of Patong.

“Koh Chang Explorer” Gulfcraft Walkaround 31

March 2008 saw our most remote delivery to date. The delivery of a New Gulfcraft Walkaround 31 to Koh Chang, Trat. The boat arrived at Ocean marina, Pattaya, where the Pre delivery inspection was carried out and after shipping assembly gave the owner Mr Jeff Bukamier the chance to get to know his new boat. This boat was custom designed by Jeff, as his preferences were for lots of shade and cold storage,

plus the larger 225 hp engine package. Go Boating exceeded Jeff’s requests on producing a fine looking boat and he was extremely happy with our work. Obviously Koh Chang is some way from Ocean Marina, in fact 110 NM ! The trip started early one morning with the owner and his friend and 3 from Go Boating’s team on board, and everything looked like a perfect day for a delivery until we rounded the head at Satahip, ! The sea’s turned into a 2 meter swell from the Stbd bow, but as instructed Jeff trimmed the boat to perfection and we maintained a steady 25knots into this annoying swell. Further into the trip as we approached Chanthaburi the seas calmed and Jeff was keen to achieve the boats top speed of 43knots, which brought a smile to all those on board. The trip took 4 hours total, and when we arrived at the ferry terminal on Koh Chang a well deserved lunch was waiting for all. Go Boating have recently just visited the vessel to carry out its first service on Koh Chang.

“Sting” Gulfcraft Touring 36

March 2008 saw the third Touring 36 delivered to Phuket’s waters. However this vessel was not destined for a resort to be used as a ferry boat or charter vessel. The owner Mr Ross Taylor knew exactly what he wanted and having searched the market including other models from Gulfcraft, finally chose the T36, as he wanted a fun boat with lots of passenger space. Ross had many customs plans for his boat and most of these were executed at the factory to include a new seat layout, custom dashboard and coolers. The other mods were carried out by the Go Boating team at their service facility at RPM once the vessel had arrived. Extra lights, new helm seat, hardtop sky hatches, cooling fans and custom seat cushions are just a few items which Ross had planned and everything was installed and his dream became a reality. Suzuki 300hp engines were chosen not to achieve a high top speed but for their ability to give this boat a very economical cruise speed of 26 knots. A top speed of 43knots is available. To date Ross has done quite a few trips with friends and regularly takes 15+ guests out on the boat. The new seating layout gives ample room and keeps the vessel evenly laden which aids stability and performance. Catch up with Ross one day and get out on this amazingly versatile vessel.

"Rose" Gulfcraft Walkaround 31

June 2008 marked the arrival of another new Walkaround 31 “ Rose”, destined for Koh Samui. Her owner flew over to Phuket to take delivery and to conduct sea trials and training. The wet weather knew we required a clear window for the weekend and the rain and wind subsided and two full days of beautiful cruising and owner training were conducted. “ Rose” Named after the owners late Aunt, then spent the next week being relocated and secured at her new home Koh Samui. Again this 31 equipped with twin 200 hp Suzuki’s gives great performance with fantastic economy. A longer sunshade, exterior cockpit table, bow sunpad were all custom requests. New style twin swim platforms were a first for the factory and were executed perfectly, adding extra space to the transom area. A truly perfect weekender.

Silvercraft SC33 "Sun Kiss'd"

Sun Kiss'd arrived late September, and spent the first week on the hardstand having final assembly and anti-fouling application carried out. The owner Mr. Norbert Kiss already is familiar with the waters around Phuket as he is a member of Royal Phuket Marina's Cruising club. He wanted to to compliment his cruising experience by having a smaller vessel to use along side his cruising clubs vessel, with outboards for shallow water access and with a cabin so his family can shade from the sun. The boat was specified with air conditioning and Generator, a larger sunshade, and a full electronics package including Radar as Norbert is a gadgets man and wanted plenty of toys to play with whilst cruising. The boat was originally ordered with 225 HP engines but due to these not being available at the time of assembly, Go Boating Offered an upgrade to 250hp for a very small extra charge and Norbert was very happy to have the larger engine upgrade. The boat was finally launched and Norbert and his family managed two days out on the boat and came back with smiles and stories of a great weekend aboard Sun Kiss'd.

Silvercraft SC31 "Wunhung"

Late September brought the arrival of the first newly branded Gulfcraft models, " Silvercraft". This new 31SC was ordered by her Owner, a well known boating enthusiast of Phuket and South East Asia, Mr Colin Low, who specified her to be a weekend cruiser, with extended shade area, Larger ice box's and comforts to make his days as relaxing as possible. Some time after placing the order, a good friend of Colin's, Mr Chris Hurst asked if he could become a partner in the boat. Colin agreed and Chris made his adjustments to the specs to suit his requirements. Chris is a fisherman, so extra rod holders, Rocket launchers and Sailfish outriggers were the order of the day. The boat arrived Mid September and was handed over in the final weeks. Colin has dodged the rain through this rainy season and has a great day or two out on the water cruising easily, powered by twin Suzuki 200hp engines. Wunhung is safely berthed in Boat Lagoon marina Phuket if ever you wished to check her out, or get down to Koh Ratcha and catch up with Chris as he pulls in that large Sailfish or hunts down that fisherman's dream catch, the almighty Marlin.

“Playbuoy” Oryx 36

October noted the arrival of a very popular model from the Gulfcraft range. An Oryx 36 ordered and destined to her owners, a prominent charter company here in Phuket. Her owners Andaman Private Charters ordered this lovely new Oryx very close to the start of the new season and requested the team at Go Boating to try to deliver as early as possible. Working closely with the factory, Go Boating secured a very quick build slot and the boat arrived less than 8 weeks after the initial order. Ordered and rigged with Suzuki’s top of the range 300hp engines this Oryx performs and cruises beautifully, giving a top speed of 40kts and a fuel efficient cruise of 27 knots burning only 85ltrs of fuel per hour. This boat has already done trips to the Similan islands and due to her shallow draft gets her charter guests close into all the secluded beaches around Phukets waters.

Silvercraft SF31

This very popular model arrived late October and during her assembly and pre delivery inspection at RPM Phuket, her Samui based owner came over for inspection. He was extremely happy with his choice of boat and having already carried out extensive trials on the same model before he ordered, he was sure he made the right choice. With shallow draft, open bow seating and extra length sunshade, this 200hp Suzuki powered boat will be seen carry guests from a high end Samui resort very soon.

“Opus One” Silvercraft 33SC

November brought the arrival of another SC33. This striking model which is being seen even more frequently out on the waters is gaining huge respect within the boating community of Phuket. This particular boat destined for Koh Ratcha is a very high spec example. Fitted with 250hp Suzuki’s, Air conditioning and Generator, underwater lights, water maker and other gadgets will be delivered later this month. This vessel went through a striking transformation, by having her hull sprayed Silver with red Boot top lines, which is being expertly applied by the Go Boating service team. Along with her Black sunshade and covers, this colour scheme makes this vessel stand out from the crowd.

“SnowCat Jr” Silvercraft SC26

The smallest arrival this year and from the lower end of the range arrives a NEW SC26. Having recently had a face lift, this little craft has come of age. With small cabin, Toilet and lots of deck seating this SC26 will soon be seen out on the water captained by her Singapore based owners who is coming to Phuket monthly to use their new boat. Weekends are already being spent out at the many popular anchorages in the area. Her owners take advantage of Go Boatings management contracts, which include cleaning and total vessel management, right down to taking care of the laundry. Powered by twin 140hp Suzuki’s this striking looking 26 easily reaches 41kts and cruises with minimal fuel burn.

"Daniele Two" Silvercraft SC33

Jan 2009 brought the 1st delivery of 2009 for the Go Boating Team.
Another new SC33 arriving brought the total number of this popular model in Thailand to 7 boats. Its Singaporean based owner and friend of the previous Silver Hulled 33 has again opted for a full specification boat. 250hp Suzuki’s were chosen as they compliment the boats hull design and give great cruising economy of about 2.6lts per Nautical mile, giving this boat a range approx 210 miles. Options added include, air conditioning which has been added to the bathroom as well, Auto pilot, fishing outriggers, black canvas and the wonderful Silver hull colour which was again expertly applied by the Go Boating Team. This Colour looks great when the water reflects the sun onto the hull and the owner loves the look.

This boat will take part in a cruise to Singapore in April, along with other boats from Go Boating, which will make a memorable experience for all who take part. Until April this boat can be viewed in RPM marina Phuket.
